What is this life if all we dare
Is to sit alone all day and stare
At TV screens, computers and phone
And shake our heads when we are shown
The lastest disasters to unfold
And believe when we are being told
That climate change will kill the earth
Insulate your lofts for all your worth
Don’t bother with Xmas at all this year
There will be no goodwill to man or cheer
Because supermarket shelves are bare
No point going out even if we dare
The media ramp up the fear
So that doom and gloom is all we hear
So do another order online
And hope that everything is fine
A poor life this if all we dare
Is to stay at home all day and stare
A take on W H Davies Poem “Leisure” which I had to learn at school.
